FOUNDER / DIRECTOR

Karim Raslan is the founder of the KRA GROUP. A graduate of the University of Cambridge, he has developed a deep understanding of business and politics across Southeast Asia.
Karim’s writings have appeared in multiple languages, including English, Indonesian, Malay, Mandarin, Tamil, Vietnamese, Thai and Burmese.
His latest series of columns, Ceritalah ASEAN (“Tell me a story, ASEAN”) is syndicated in Indonesia (Kompas.com), Malaysia (Astro Awani and Sin Chew), the Philippines (ABS-CBN), Vietnam (Tuoi Tre Newspaper), Thailand (Post Today), Myanmar (the Irrawaddy) and Hong Kong (the South China Morning Post). The columns are now augmented by an extensive social media presence, including Facebook in targeted language markets.
He has also helmed a series of well-received documentaries, including Ceritalah Malaysia (2012), Ceritalah Indonesia (2014) and Keberagamaan Agama (“Religious Diversity”, 2017).
Karim is the author of five books, Ceritalah: Malaysia in Transition, Heroes and Other Stories, Ceritalah 2: Journeys through Southeast Asia and Ceritalah 3: Malaysia the Dream Deferred as well as his first Bahasa Indonesia-language book, Ceritalah Indonesia.
In 2018, he started his website for Ceritalah by Karim Raslan.

Valentine Willie
Valentine Willie graduated from University College London (UCL) with a degree in law. He subsequently returned to Malaysia in 1978 to practice for twenty years in Sabah. whilst also publishing his book on Banking Law in 1996.
That same year Valentine left law to establish an art consultancy and galleries across Southeast Asia, particularly in Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and Indonesia. His career spanning over twenty years in the art business has provided him with a profound understanding of the cultural and historical landscape of the region.
Since the beginning of 2018, Valentine has been serving as Managing Director and overseeing company resources and allocation. His extensive knowledge on South-East Asia has informed both the advice we give to clients as well as the Ceritalah productions.
